Custom Manufacturing FAQs
Find clear answers about CNC machining, custom fasteners, sheet metal fabrication, materials, tolerances, surface finishing, quality inspection, order quantities and worldwide delivery.
Which custom manufacturing services do you provide?
LEITE Hardware supports custom fastener fabrication, CNC machining and turning, metal stamping and sheet metal work, laser cutting and welding, surface treatment and finishing. Project support can also include prototype development, engineering review, OEM manufacturing and ODM manufacturing.
What information should I provide for an accurate quotation?
Provide the latest 2D drawing and 3D CAD model when available, together with the material grade, order quantity, tolerances, surface finish, critical dimensions, application, inspection requirements, packaging needs and delivery destination. Complete technical information helps the engineering team evaluate the process and pricing accurately.
Which drawing and CAD file formats can you review?
Commonly reviewed formats include STEP, STP, IGES, IGS, STL, DWG, DXF and PDF. A controlled 2D drawing should define tolerances, threads, finishes and critical features, while the 3D model communicates the complete part geometry.
Can you support both prototypes and production orders?
Yes. A project can begin with an engineering sample, functional prototype or pilot quantity and move into repeat production after the design, material, finish and inspection requirements are approved. The production route depends on the drawing, process, tooling and required volume.
Which materials can you manufacture?
Material options can include aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, brass, copper, titanium, superalloys and engineering plastics. Some projects may also involve ceramics or carbon-fiber components. Final availability and manufacturability are confirmed after technical review.
What machining tolerances can you achieve?
Tolerance capability is evaluated feature by feature because it depends on part size, geometry, material, machining access, wall thickness, process stability and inspection method. Mark critical dimensions clearly on the drawing so capability can be confirmed before production.
Which surface treatments and finishes are available?
Depending on the material and application, finishing options may include anodizing, electroplating, powder coating, painting, polishing, brushing, sandblasting, passivation, black oxide and heat treatment. Specify the required color, texture, standard and performance requirement in the RFQ.
How do you control the quality of custom parts?
Quality planning begins with the approved drawing and can include material verification, first-piece checks, in-process measurement, dimensional inspection, thread and gauge checks, surface review, final inspection and packaging control. Request required reports or documents before quotation.
What is your minimum order quantity?
There is no single MOQ for every project. The practical minimum depends on the manufacturing process, raw material, part size, tooling, setup time, finish and inspection requirements. Prototype and low-volume requests can be reviewed, while dedicated tooling may require a higher quantity.
Can you ship custom parts internationally?
Yes. International delivery can be coordinated by express courier, air freight or sea freight according to the destination, quantity, weight, dimensions, urgency and packaging requirements. Include the delivery country and postcode in the RFQ.
Can you protect confidential drawings and project information?
Yes. An NDA can be reviewed when confidentiality is required. Clearly identify controlled files, revision levels, authorized contacts and any special data-handling expectations before sharing sensitive information.
